This series of conceptual experiments set out to explore various properties of the Abingdon spa at an early stage in the design process. The initial models explored material properties of wood, concrete and glass and how they interact with respect to our presence. They also explore several basic structural concepts such as tension, compression, mass and lightness that can be seen in the final design.
The collages and images began to describe the aesthetic of the spa, specifically the relationship between the interior and the exterior. The final collage set out to explore construction methodologies and question how it would be possible to build a large structure within a confined site.
